About me

Introduction William Reece Barham was born on January 12, 2008. He weighed 4 lbs 15 oz and was 15 1/2 inches long. His name "William" means "strong-willed", and "Reece" means "protector." On the day he was born, we were basically told that he would never come home with us. However, the power of prayer kicked in, and never turned into months; months turned into weeks. Then, our prayers were answered and we took him home in 9 days. They thought that he had Trisomy 18, so they tested everything. Each day we received good news until, finally, we received the normal chromosome report. We cried and praised the Lord for being so good to our little angel. Since then, Reece has had lots of therapy and surgery on his feet. At age 6 months, through blood tests sent to Germany, he was diagnosed with Escobar syndrome, a very rare genetic disorder also known as multiple pterygium syndrome. He lets nothing stop him, though. He continues to amaze us! Our prayer for Reece is that he will use his life experience to witness the awesome power of God. He really is a miracle!!
