About me

Introduction My love and respect for the timeless traditions of heirloom sewing was discovered as I searched for my first child's christening dress. Unsatisfied with the offerings of local department stores, I stumbled upon a quaint shop called SARAH HOWARD STONE, INC. and my love for all heirloom clothing was birthed. In 1993 under the tutelage of Sarah Howard Stone and Melissa Stone in Montgomery, Alabama, I developed a passion for French handsewing and have grown to share my knowledge through classes and now through this blog. For the past eighteen years, I have sewn over 500 custom garments for Sarah Howard Stone, Inc. and to others with an enthusiam for heirloom items. In recent months, I have broadened my scope of sewing to include high school graduation dresses. My hope is that in viewing my work you will fall in love the timeless art of heirloom sewing.
