| Introduction | Advocating for good, clean, and fair food is my passion, along with the belief that eating nutritious, local, seasonal, and tasty food in variety is the cornerstone to good health and well-being for both individuals and communities. I've taught nutrition classes, worked in business and health care, and founded New Hampshire's Edible magazine. As a Registered Dietitian, I am just as concerned about how nutrients react in the human body as I am about where the food came from to begin with. In my quest as an investigative nutritionist, I have come to realize that the soil, used to grow plants and support livestock grazing, is just about the closest thing we have to the Earth's life support system. In 2009, Governor John Lynch appointed me to the Agricultural Advisory Board for New Hampshire. In 2011, I was invited to join the newly formed New Hampshire Food Advisory Council. Whole, healthy foods are an integral and very exciting part of my daily life and I'm glad to share nutrition 'pearls' and recipes via this blog. |
