Introduction I am on the faculty of the University of Vermont’s (UVM) Rubenstein School of the Environment and Natural Resources and Director of the Spatial Analysis Laboratory. I first became fascinated with geospatial technology after hearing a lecture on Landsat when I was an undergraduate at the University of New Hampshire. My research these days ranges from examining issues of environmental justice to developing procedures to automate the extraction of land cover information from high resolution remotely sensed data. For over a decade I served (active and reserve) with infantry and geospatial intelligence units in the United States Marine Corps. Any opinions expressed on this blog are my own. They do not reflect those of my employer or any of the fine organizations that provide funding to support my work.
