Introduction | Welcome to the ongoing web journal of music journalist and Blogcritics assistant music editor Glen Boyd. Glen began a long career in the music business managing a neighborhood record store in Seattle in the seventies and went on to run several others, eventually owning his own for a brief period in the mid nineties. In between, he was, among other things: A Music Journalist and Contributing editor at several magazines (The Rocket; Tower Records Pulse; The Source); A DJ at Rap Radio (KCMU's Shock Frequency and later, KCMU Rap Attack); and a National Sales and Marketing Director at a number of record labels, most notably Nastymix Records (where he helped launch the career of Seattle rapper Sir Mix A Lot) and American Recordings (where he promoted hit records for Sir Mix A Lot and the Black Crowes, among others).
