A Catholic Deacon's Perspective

About me

Introduction	Deacon Jim was ordained in 2005 and lives in the southwest area of the United States where he serves at a parish center, is on the Diaconate Personnel Board of the diocese and facilitates deacon captains of seven deaneries with 180 deacons. He periodically writes Pastoral Letters for parish bulletins, as well as articles for the Diaconate community’s “Bowl & Towel” and the diocesan newspaper. In addition, he serves as a master of ceremony for diocesan liturgical ceremonies presided by bishops. In his early career he was a writer/reporter for a well-known Midwest newspaper, as well as owning a public relations/advertising firm. He is now semi-retired and works part-time in two professional practices he owns. On a personal note, he is married 57 years, helped rear four children with his wife, a grandfather to 10 grandchildren and a great grandfather to six great grandchildren.
