| Introduction | I came through Las Vegas for the first time in January, 1966, when the money flowed freely, and so did the liquor, cheap food and fancy women. It was an exciting place. There was no place in the world like it, but it has changed in the last ten years. It has lost its dazzle as developers build monuments to themselves in sprawling, mostly empty caverns filled with a few slot machines. This is about how it was when Las Vegas was VEGA$. |
