| Introduction | Born and educated in Malaysia. After completing his studies in Ipoh, pianist Kok Ting furthered his studies at Trinity College of Music, London. Winner of numerous competitions, The John Longmire Prize, The John Halford Prize, The Elisabeth Schumann Lieder Prize, The English Song Prize, The John Ireland Trust, The English Singers and Speaker, highly commended in the Great Grimsby Competition and at The Young Musician of the Year Competition in Stockholm. His contribution to the local National Classical Singing Competition as an accompanist is well recognized and in 2001 he was awarded the first Accompanist Prize by the board of adjudicators. Concert engagements took him around England, Sweden, Italy, Korea, Indonesia and Singapore. He was awarded a Borsa di Studio from the Italian Embassy Malaysia in 2003, which enabled him to study and live in Italy. He is currently based in Kuala Lumpur working as a piano tutor, vocal coach and accompanist. |
