| Introduction | After a career in English teaching spanning a decade, I wanted to explore my potential as a writer. This passion for writing led to this blog where students can find explanations of poems, topics on social sciences, book reviews as well as the stories I wrote for The Softcopy at the Indian Institute of Journalism and New Media. I loved writing for my blog and answering the queries of my readers as well as reading their comments. But it was not enough, not by a long shot. My inquisitive nature makes me restless. And it wanted me to do more. Enter, Indian Institute of Journalism and New Media. In a few months I feel I have covered a long distance. The on-the-job learning methodology works beautifully because journalism cannot be learnt in a class room. It is an experience-based learning that makes each day more exciting than the last. No mundane routine here, we hunt, we scrounge and we get our hands dirty. The satisfaction of completing a story is incomparable. I look forward to the years ahead working where the real stories lie. |
