About me

OccupationYoga Teacher - I teach a spacious and often flowing style of Yoga focusing on the integration of sound, breath, movement and internal awareness/mindfulness.
LocationGeelong, Victoria, Australia
IntroductionWhen it was suggested to me after 6 years of yoga practice that I might make a good yoga teacher my answer was "but I'm not flexible enough". There began the real journey of realising that it's not necessarily about how far your body can bend relative to some external ideal, but about how present you are to experience the process from within - wherever it is you may end up. It is this practice we do on the mat of exploring and accepting the physical self - all that is stiff and unyielding as well as open and flexible - that interests me. For this is the beginning of the greater work of exploring and accepting the less tangible layers of ourselves. Since having children myself I have become passionate about sharing yoga with women during this transformative time. Through pregnancy, birth and motherhood women gain access to an inner strength we often don't even realise we have - as well as finding our myriad vulnerabilities laid bare. What a perfect time then to delve into this practice of yoga which also uncovers and challenges us to balance the elements of openness and containment, giving and receiving, bringing into being and letting go...
