Introduction | I was the three-term Mayor of the City of Cincinnati from December 1993 - November 1999. Prior to that I served for one two-year term on Cincinnati City Council. Since returning to Council in 2007, I have focused on initiatives that are fundamental to building a strong Cincinnati and result in enhanced quality of life, a globally competitive local economy and smart management of City resources. I currently chair Council’s Budget and Finance Committee, Livable Communities Committee, as well as the Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee. I agreed to come back into public service because I love this city. I believe leadership is important. I think I bring the experience to office as a community activist, a member of council, a three-term mayor, a student of public policy, and a teacher that will help council and the mayor meet the challenges the city faces today as we build for the future. |
