| Introduction | The Cultural Chica is a lifelong Chicagoan with an MBA/MSIMC concentrating in consumer behavior, information technology and e-commerce. I live on the north side, spend a lot of time on the south side, and am known to wander all over the city, offering some proof that all who wander are not lost, but they might be adventurous, foodies, or people determined to really get our money's worth from a CTA bus pass. My love of consumer behavior, both online and offline, is a natural adjunct to my study and fascination with US American subcultures, our history in this nation and the impacts of this history on generational demographic segments. If this sounds like a great combination for Multicultural Marketing, well, yes it is. And yes this is a specialty. |
| Interests | In a previous life, I developed enterprise based user applications, which means I headed up projects that did user feasibility studies, interviewing all levels of business systems users, and working on many aspects of user interface. After grad school that was traded in for Internet marketing to reach niche demographic markets. Also in a previous life I studied various martial arts, including Tae Kwon Do, Aikido, Uechiryu karate do and in keeping with the Do family lineage, Iaido, which uses a sword. Eventually I replaced the martial arts with a more intense love for the alternative healing arts, having grown up with it since I was a teenager. My favorite place to be outside of being with friends, a great restaurant, interesting small business or a play is online. |
