| Introduction | It was not love at first sight. Far from it. I remember the sheer panic of the day we brought him home from the hospital. I sat watching him wail the house down....waiting and praying for my 'motherly instinct' to kick in. IT DIDN'T. And what followed was a loooong painful period of 'learning on the job'. Just when I had begun to seriously consider medication for baby blues...he began to splash around with words and colors...conjuring up stories that wrapped themselves around me like magic spells. Each story spoke of a soul... beautiful... warm... familiar...a fellow explorer. I was hooked. |
