When you open your eyes underwater, do you ever worry that you'll drown?
I'm not sure if the second part of that is directly related to the first part. When I first learned to swim, it didn't bother me to have my eyes open. Then for a long time, I would only swim with goggles to avoid chlorine/salt. Now, I'm back to indifferent, although I like to keep them closed to avoid eye contact with germs. I am not worried about drowning with my eyes open or shut.
