| Introduction | Biography Melanie oversees the development and integrity of Learning Media’s core instructional series for the Ministry of Education and develops frameworks and concepts for key literacy projects. She also reviews student and teacher materials and develops curriculum-aligned projects for local and international clients. Melanie was a project leader of the Literacy Professional Development Project (LPDP) and has worked in depth in schools. Before joining Learning Media, she worked as a literacy consultant in New York elementary and middle schools, a literacy advisor for the Wellington College of Education (now Victoria University) and a deputy principal at Titahi Bay Intermediate School. Melanie utilises her understanding of curriculum, pedagogy, progressions of learning, and improved practices in designing, reviewing, and developing student and teacher resources that precisely match the needs of their audiences. Her familiarity with key associates’ expertise allows her to match professionals with projects and her knowledge of Ministry of Education policy drivers and the reality of schools means that she is able to understand ‘problems’ and develop practical solutions. |
