| Introduction | I come from a small village in Yorkshire, England, called Robin Hoods Bay. It was there surrounded by my seafaring parents and grandparents I learnt to love the sea, the smell of tang and the thrill of search for crabs and lobsters in the tidal nooks and crannies. It led me to a seafaring career and later to work in the academic and UN sectors to help further the knowledge and competence of those disadvantaged nations we used to call under developed! |
