| Introduction | I have been in education for most of my life, either as a student (33.5 years) or as a teacher (20+ years). It has been my lifelong journey to determine what knowledge and skills are necessary to thrive in the 21st century, not only for my own success but for the success of my students and other curious human beings around me. The more I learn, the more I realize my journey has just begun. Technology has fascinated me ever since I discovered the Apple IIe in the school library in 6th grade. I did so much more than "die of dysentery" on the Oregon Trail; I learned a foreign language, Applesoft Basic. My journey has been a diverse search for answers learning new languages and ideas, meeting people with interesting stories to tell, and exploring new places and points of view. Half a century of learning has taught me that there is so much incredible information out there if we choose to look for it. My goal is to be a conduit for that information and pass it on into useful knowledge that can be used in everyday life. Change is going to happen, the trick is to learn enough useful information to inspire ourselves to move forward and take charge of our own education. |
| Interests | I have a hardwired craving to be better, a need to explore and learn, a longing to make a difference, an embarrassing attention to detail, and a talent for causing “a-ha!” moments. |
