| Introduction | I am returning to college after a few years dedicated only to full time work. Originally from Brazil, where I started my college education with major in International Business, I have been living in the US for about seven years. Aiming to work in such environment, understanding different cultures and learning as many languages as one is able to, is not a choice, but a required asset. Passing by a six months work and study experience in Spain, the international exchange in the US was the following stepping stone for my career development. I believe things happen for a reason, and at the end of what was supposed to represent one year of exchange experience, turned into something at the minimum, more permanent. I did not return to Brazil to continue my education and follow the original academic course; instead, meeting my husband in this country, finding a job, purchasing a home, having a child (Sophia is now 18 months old) then changing jobs a number of times, has played a bigger role in redirecting my original goals. |
