Introduction I am a Michigan native, Seattle Culinary Academy Graduate (April 2011) and Farmer’s Market Obsessed. I love talking food, ingredients, recipes and specialty diets. I believe in the strength of local food. From growers and farmers, fisherman to producers, our connection to this community is so important. Knowing where and how our food arrives at our table should be something we pay attention to. My passion is driven around improving that connection. Let’s celebrate those who work to cultivate what we eat, day in and day out. Come with me as we grow this movement together! I am a passionate foodie, working for an independent, family jeweler. I have a food education focused on sustainability. And while I miss the Pacific Northwest immensely, I am excited about the opportunity to grow as an economical, healthy home cook.
Interests Cooking (ha!), cookbooks, local food, Farmers markets, spring strawberries, summer tomatoes & fall squash, potatoes & garlic! Obsessed with Podcasts - I could listen to Tim Ferriss, Guy Roz, Oprah Super Soul and Splendid Table all day long!
Favorite Movies Love Actually, Pitch Perfect
Favorite Music Calm, Meditation Music, Piano
Favorite Books What I Know for Sure, Oprah Winfrey The Power of Now The Las Lecture Tribe of Mentors, Tim Ferriss

What lesson has taken you the hardest to learn? That this moment has to be appreciated; always looking ahead or forward to the next big life event or change, will keep you from ever enjoying life at all. We have to live in the moment..."as they say" because this is all there is. I was always focusing on the next step, but am learning to appreciate the now.
