| Introduction | I may have a problem, and it has been a reoccurring theme in my life; shopping, purchasing, consuming, and the result is I do have nice things, which compared to others probably are fairly moderate and reasonable, but the reason I shop and consume may be the problem. I do it to be happy; it makes me so happy to buy a new thing. It feels a little sick, so in 2014, I am going to not buy anything new (I have a few exceptions). I will cleanse myself of this coping mechanism in the hope that I will better understand my feelings and save a ton of money. Also, my habits have isolated me, so I am hoping to also connect with other people this year. |
