| Introduction | I am a parent of an intellectually disabled adult son and I am completing my PhD in Health Geography. I love to grow unusual vegetables and cook mostly vegetarian food. Given that I am a full-time caregiver and PhD student, the family budget is often strained. Not letting a small income hinder me, I purchase many home furnishings at the thrift-store and use paint to give my home character and ambience. I believe that collecting things that we love and creating or making the rest, brings beauty and creativity to our lives and homes. Just because we are "trapped" in this "home" place, doesn't mean that it can't be a place we love to look at and live in :-) |
