| Introduction | R:"I used to want to get out of here as fast I could. Now I can't imagine just leaving all of this history. It's not that I'm comfortable. I'm content." M:"Yeah." Everyday for the last few years I've realized more and more how lucky I am to be where I am. I've been blessed to be surrounded by friends and acquaintances that embody what it means to be a true Appalachian. Each one of these people, along with countless others, help make this region what it is. It's my goal for this blog to pay tribute to the classic Appalachian American way of life and hopefully highlight some of the characters that make up my small town. |
