| Introduction | I am a dyslexia instructional specialist in Waco ISD and have been teaching for 15 years. I currently use Chromebooks and IPads with my students to allow them ample opportunity for visual and oral accommodations. I love using interactive apps to talk to the students and the parents. I use the apps to check in on the learning we have done in class so that I know they are understanding and retaining the information. |
| Interests | On top of working on my Master's in Education, I am also working on my CALT certificate so that I can become a certified academic language therapist. I use and am trained in the MTA (multisensory teaching approach) to remediate students who have learning disabilities of dyslexia and dysgraphia. I am married and a mom of three wonderful children. Two boys and my little girl. I have a dog named Brownie and our family loves to be outside. Sports, gardening, and riding our bikes are activities you might find us doing when we aren't busy hiding from the Texas heat. I love my family, the beach, the color purple, and Dr. Pepper. |
