| Introduction | I live in Appalachia in a beautiful, rural mountain state that is being ravaged for natural resources and overdeveloped for tourism and second homes. In 2000, I escaped from the city and returned to the home in which both my father and I grew up. This modest home is full of memories of my childhood family, my grandmother, and special times with my own children. I live a simple lifestyle free of the clutter of excess materialism. |
