Location Knoxville (area), Tennessee
Introduction I am a married father of three with a BA in Religious Studies from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and a religious upbringing that began in a oneness/full-gospel/holiness/apocalyptic church in south Louisiana and ended in an Apostolic church in northern Maine. I remain culturally Pentecostal/Apostolic in many ways, but am entranced by Christian/Anarchist, emergent and modern Anabaptist thought, and am a firm believer in communitarian understandings of Christianity, holding to a high Christology as the most likely path out of the current religious/social/political quagmire we find our current Western civilization in. I develop that Christology through the thoughts of such writers as Leo Tolstoy, Slavoj Žižek, and Gregory Boyd, and find its political activation in a strongly communitarian ethic and via such movements as Occupy. I often make seemingly contradictory syatements, as I find contradiction between my ideal world and the things necessary to get this one to work. Therefore, I reserve the right to evolve and develop without being beholden to those types of trolls who like to preface their statements with smug "aha"s and "I got you"s. Hope you enjoy the blog!
