Introduction	This is all about easy peasy. Before I had a baby, I would spend entire weekends cooking and baking to my heart’s content. Saturdays would start with a shopping spree to Sur La Table for a new gadget, a fat (and phat) new cookbook with lots of glossy photos, and maybe some little Italian juice glasses or porcelain crème brulee dishes. Next it was a leisurely stroll through Pike Place Market for seasonal fruits, veggies, and the freshest most succulent protein of the day. The rest of the weekend was a dive into indulgences: caramel apple tarte tartin, almond scented madelines drizzled with a sweet lemon glaze, herb and mustard crusted beef tenderloin, a vegetable gratin with imported cheeses, and a decadent French sauce. Notice I started with dessert. I’m bad like that. Okay, whoa, let’s get back to the present. I’ve traded in those luxurious weekends for three new goals: fast, easy, and num num. I now cook to please the love of my life, and she’s two. Please join me in the delicious fun of cooking for the world’s toughest connoisseurs: kids (and my better half, too).
