| Introduction | In 1984 At 17yrs old I swam my first open water swim, swimming from Ailsa Craig to Girvan 10.5miles(No swim hat and no grease!)to raise money for Arthritis which my mum suffered badly from. I then had the bug for bigger and tougher swims and I then went on to swim in the first International 25k swim in Lake Windermere (representing Scotland) and was the only swimmer in the Scottish team to complete it. I followed that and became the second Scottish woman to swim the English Channel in 1987 in a time of 14hrs 16mins and in 1988 I became the first Scottish woman and one of only three women ever to complete the Irish Channel. I have also swam Lake Windermere, Loch Rannoch, Loch Lomond, Loch Earn, Gallway Bay,Lough Erne, 2-way Windermere and various other swims as well as representing Scotland in Egypt, Switzerland, Sicilly and Ireland. |
