IntroductionChristopher Sweet is a multilingual college student who lives in Midland, Michigan, USA. Since his early high school years, he has been learning how to speak Urdu/Hindi, Panjabi, Gujarati, and other South Asian languages through books, with the help of Internet, films, and close friends. Living in between both American culture and Indo-Pakistani culture, he has much to say in regards to culture, and intends on the nearly impossible dream of becoming desi in words as well as in deed. Though he feels close to English, he feels closer to Urdu/Hindi, his second language. He is also a desi musician (specializing in harmonium, tabla, dhol, dholak, etc.) and has a passion for music recording. He is also passionate about Old Hindi films and film songs, bhangra, qawwali, other forms of Indo-Pakistani music, and how they fit into that specific cultural region.
