Introduction	I'm a student at the Ethical Culture Fieldston School, class of 2011. I have been on Financial Aid at Fieldston from 2nd grade through 11th. I enjoy this opportunity very much and will be forever thankful for my time at Fieldston and where it will lead me. Apart from this pleasure, I wish to express my feelings about another unique quality of Fieldston that I find to be quite valuable. It's simply Fieldston's trusting environment, one where student initiative is allowed to have a real affect on the school, the outside community, and the world. In the beginning of 2010, less than a week after the earthquake in Haiti, my friends and I decided to start a fund for Haiti relief. We called ourselves the Students for Haiti Relief group and ended up raising more than $20,000 first baking food for students to buy and eventually gaining enough enthusiasm to put on a Talent Show for Haiti, which was largely an undertaking of the entire senior class. This was when I realized that Fieldston students are meant to do great things. So, here's me, giving it a go.
