| Introduction | I started with a simple idea of helping children learn special skills, through playing basketball. Not necessarily using basketball directly as an avenue for upward mobility, because I think that idea in itself is extremely problematic (see March 1st blog), but rather through the indirect lessons basketball teaches. As one who has played basketball competitively for a majority of his life, I recognize things such as self-confidence, teamwork, and competitiveness, as valuable lessons that I've taken away from basketball and applied to other areas of my life. I recognize, if basketball is taught the right way, and even the wrong way sometimes, that these along with a plethora of other intrinsic lessons may be learned by the participant. With that simple idea in mind I approached Rotary International and they saw it a worthy idea to fund. Now I find myself in Auckland, New Zealand tapping into the existing basketball network in hopes that I can touch a few kids lives by teaching them the game of basketball. |

My Dream: Get a team of talented individuals and create a dream team to run basketball camps around the world, where we could spread our knowledge of the game, so they too may be touched by the greatness that is Basketball.
