Introduction I was born in Thomasville, North Carolina in 1945 and moved about 20 years ago to Florida. My college education was taken at UNC-Chapel Hill, BA English, with several isolated courses since on a variety of subjects. My work has been mainly in libraries and offices. Now that I am retired I am writing this blog, and have made a stab at writing murder mysteries. I did produce three short novels and a small book of my own poetry through Lulu.com, a self-publishing house in North Carolina. Writing this news blog and the researching associated with it give me that new input that I need to be energetic and happy.
Interests My greatest interests involve the daily news, politics, psychology, all living things, especially humans and cats. For relaxation I like Youtube documentaries and the British archaeology show Time Team. That is my nightly trip to see "the Brits" and their lovely towns and countryside.
Favorite Movies I have seen too many good movies to name, but here are a few: Never Cry Wolf; Forrest Gump; Bridget Jones' Diary. Mainly, I want films to be well-produced and keep my interest. I like films that are quirky and characters that are emotionally moving to me. I want to learn something or be entertained, but hopefully both at the same time.
Favorite Music Once it would have been classical and musical drama, (though not opera in most cases), blues, jazz and folk music. Now it is rock or blues but any engaging singer, instrumentalist or group will sound good.
Favorite Books I Never Promised You a Rose Garden; The Great Gatsby; Pride and Prejudice and other Jane Austen novels; Watership Down; the play Pygmalion; & others.
