| Introduction | I was born and raised in Texas, moving to Florida after both my children were born. I've been married for 35 years and a stay-at-home mom for 32 years, but I guess now you'd call me an empty-nester. Both kids have finished college, and one is teaching high school music and the other is in grad school. I've always loved reading, but never been able to devote a lot of time to it. High on my list of favorite authors are Shakespeare and Austen. I published a book of poetry once, but have never written anything else. After doing a bit of traveling the last few years to combat the empty-nest woes, I finally find myself with quite a bit of free time on my hands. Could I clean out a few closets? Yep! However, I've decided, instead, to read as many classics and as many "top" authors as I can over this next year. So...as the late Clorin John Layton once said, I'm going to paddle and not drift. :-) P.S. It has now been 7 years that I've been pursuing this reading project! |
