| Introduction | Food has never been short of a passion of mine, since I was a small child helping mom, dad and grandma in the kitchen. Watching with wonder and amazement at all the wonderful things being created. Food for my family and I has always been about togetherness. A gathering of friends, or family, for celebration or mourning food has taken center stage and in a plentiful way. I have been working in professional kitchens now for the past 13 years. And I have done it all, from washing dishes to management. Its where I feel the most at ease, the most in control, the most free and the most comfortable. The sights, sounds and smells of a kitchen have become such a integral part of my life. A relationship of extreme love and at times hate but at the end of even the worst day i don't know what I would ever do without it. Food is an adventure, and like any adventure half the fun is in the uncertainty and risk. |
