Introduction As a direct service provider, as a researcher and as a writer, I've worked across fields that all have in common the development of human potential: mental health, vocational rehabilitation, regular and special education, correctional education and workforce development. Personally, my proudest accomplishment in life is my part of a team effort in rearing my two children, now adults. My grandson Judah calls me Bop, his invention. I learned to read and write as a Vietnam-era undergrad at Penn; I learned to do research as a grad student in developmental psych at Temple. This blog offers my take on matters political -- of course, very little in the world falls outside that rubric. As a "politician", I have run for public office only once -- to be "Majority Inspector" of my precinct -- and I won! Yes, I was unopposed, but in politics a win is a win. My view of the world combines 40 years of experiential learning, working with people all over the U.S. and beyond, with a reseacher's sensibility for analyzing data and my deeply rooted progressive values. I do advocate, but I value the truth and believe accuracy has to trump advocacy.
