| Location | Hi, I'm Trish. Glad you happened by, Massachusetts Southcoast |
| Introduction | Like most women today, I wear many hats; Wife, Mom, Nana, and RN by profession. I love the way our home explodes with joy and laughter during family visits (2 grown children and 8 beautiful grandchildren). I also enjoy gardening (trying to downsize - too much upkeep), reading (mostly historical fiction and travel journals), cooking (anything Italian), sketching, sewing and needlework (time to work on another quilt), and traveling (Bermuda's been a favorite for repeats but we've been exploring Europe more recently and I enjoy sharing our experiences on my travel pages). We've been lifelong New England Patriot fans and enjoy being season ticket holders. I've also spent countless hours (and miles) on genealogy research. I'm back to 15th century Paris, the earliest settlements of Canada, and 1600 England. Although I signed on in 2009 I only just got around to actually developing this blog in December of 2011. It's become a new passion and I hope to share all of the above interests here with you. |
| Interests | Varied and many...the days are just too short. Gardening, genealogy, travel, Italian cooking, (have recently developed a passion for baking bread), sketching(watercolors is a newly used medium), quilting, history (mostly colonial New England), and the New England Patriots |
| Favorite music | Eclectic to say the least. I'll sing along with the top 20, but also enjoy both classical and country depending on my mood. For relaxing I enjoy listening to Loreena McKennitt and sipping a good white wine. |
| Favorite books | Mostly Historical Fiction with Here Be Dragons an absolute favorite,(anything by Sharon Kay Penman or Elizabeth Chadwick), Pillars of the Earth, GWTW is an old favorite I can pick up, open to any page and enjoy rereading, David McCullough's John Adams and 1776, Under the Tuscan Sun (the orig book, not the movie), I enjoy travel journals especially those of expats, Year of Wonders and The Winter Rose were interesting because of their medical storylines and some of Jodi Picoult's works explore difficult subjects. I do love the fairy tales and frequently reread/retell them to the grandkids with different, and more personally relevant, twists. |
