Introduction C.M. Brice was born on an army post in the south of the United States, and since then has lived in Virginia and Germany, where she gained a love of massive, dark forests and gruesome fairy tales, before finally settling in the Southwest of the United States. Leading up to the completion of The Shadow King, she worked in an ice cream shop and as a hairdressing assistant. In her spare time, she gets misty-eyed reading about dead fellows (historical figures), collects Antiques from the Victorian and Edwardian Eras, and dreams up tragic histories for household objects. Miss Brice is currently toiling away on the second book in The Shadow King Sequence and daily strives to serve the napoleonic whims of the goblin masquerading as her pet boston terrier.

You can whistle and steam can whistle, so why do you sing in the shower?

Because a kettle sings when the steam comes out of the spout.
