Introduction	Hello! Welcome to Lindley Middle School. My name is Mrs.Varney and I will be teaching reading connections this year. I am excited to start a new year with all of you! I want to begin with telling you a little about myself. I grew up in Fort Worth, Texas and am the middle child of two sisters. I attended Harding University for my undergraduate and Graduate degree. I received my Masters in Reading because it is the foundation for all learning in our lives. I didn't want to teach just to teach. I want to teach for a purpose. I just got married this past summer and just moved to the area, so I am brand new to Georgia! My husband is currently a PHD student studying Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech. I also have a crazy cat named sushi. My hobbies include running, backpacking, rock climbing, and of course reading! It excites me that I am able to teach what I am passionate about to influence the lives of all my students. I work hard to reach the needs of every child in my class. There is a reader inside everybody. You just have to find the right genre that is just right for you!
