| Introduction | As a nuclear chemist I worked for 35 years in the Department of Nuclear Medicine of Erasmus MC (Rotterdam, NL), the last 15 years mainly in research on new radiopharmaceuticals for Peptide Receptor Scintigraphy and Peptide Receptor Therapy. As a radiation safety expert, I was responsible for radiation protection and for the enforcement of statutory dose limits, as these apply in the Netherlands and internationally. I feel that these statutory dose limits and their current impact should be reviewed. |
