| Introduction | I am a tremendously blessed Sickle Cell Anemia Disease warrior/wifey and mother of two beautiful/God given children. This illness is very challenging. I'm compassionate, understanding, and genuinely supportive to others battling the same. Usually, I'm hospitalized more than several times a year for Sickle Cell "crisis". This results in multiple blood transfusions, oxygen, IV fluids, pain control etc. The "crisis" ( pain ) attacks me in my arms, legs, hips and lower back. I'm easily to tire and can feel very fatigue. Proper rest is important for me, also not over-exerting myself strenuously. My worst times in dealing with Sickle Cell Anemia Disease is during the summer and winter months. Being too hot or cold can induce a painful crisis...stress also. Today I am a survivor with great pride, sharing my testimony. I'm ever so blessed! Thallassemia and Pulmonary Hypertention are my other diagnosis. I do wear oxygen on a daily basis. I'm very strong in my spirituality, giving God the glory. He will not cloud us with anymore than what we can bear. I'm grateful for wisdom and have many dreams. Be a blessing to someone, so that someone may be a blessing to you! |
