Introduction	I live in Muskegon, Michigan, with my husband Phil. We have two adult children and one grandchild. I write here because it seems at times that people don't understand the connection between our daily lives and the people we elect to set policy. I have a unique view of all of this as a former educator ( 30-year Speech Pathologist in the public schools), and my four years serving in Michigan's legislature during its most challenging period in recent history.
