| Introduction | I’m a Tanzanian journalist/communicator cum lawyer who is a member of the Journalists’ Environmental Association of Tanzania with a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Journalism and Communication from Makerere University, Uganda and an Undergraduate Degree in Laws from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. I did an online course in ICT Journalism conducted by the International Institute of ICT Journalism based in Accra, Ghana and a basic course in International Environmental Law by the United Nations Institute of Training and Research of Geneva, Switzerland. I've just started an 18 months diploma course in the same area of study at the same institute (UNITAR). I have been a journalist for the past 9 years. I have worked in various capacities up to the level of Assistant Features’ Editor with The Guardian Ltd. I still contribute a column every Friday in The Guardian newspaper ‘Our Planet Earth’ which focuses on environment. Besides, I worked in Uganda for two years with an NGO-Rural Development Media Communications as Communications Officer. I also used this time to write for Uganda’s English daily-The Daily Monitor. |
