| Introduction | Aneal is a high school math teacher at Satellite Academy- Midtown. She has been a teacher and advisor there for 3 years. Ellie is a 10th grade math teacher at the High School of Telecommunication, Arts and Technology. We met at Pace University while we were working towards our Masters in the Science of Teaching. We quickly realized that we share an excitement and love for teaching math to young people. After grad school, we continued to collaborate through curriculum development and the interchange of successful strategies for their students with low math levels. We feel lucky to be supported by the Fund for Teachers Fellowship to explore China and investigate their educational culture, specifically as it relates to math and to bring back our findings to our New York City classrooms. |
