About me

IntroductionI am a scientist and like all scientists I love to create hypotheses. Nothing is more hopeful and fun than a shiny new hypothesis. It costs nothing and can be done anywhere and at any time of night or day. It can be a silent activity, involving nothing save your thoughts, or splashy and loud. A hypothesis can be short enough to text and can be a sweet tweet. I knew I wanted to be a scientist when in first grade my hypothesis was proven wrong: cold water will freeze solid faster than hot water. Wrong. A pan of cold water, placed on the wide window sill of my Michigan classroom, did not freeze faster than the pan of hot water. We made a graph of time vs temperature and it became clear when the race to solid converged. Not a wholly tasty hypothesis but it got me hooked on the hope that hypotheses can create. This blog is dedicated to the hypothesis that food affects mood. We can chop, cook, and eat our way to serenity. Amen.
