IntroductionI grew up in Southern Colorado, on a ranch. As a little girl, I was always interested in making things. My mother is an artist, and my father was a carpenter. I had three sisters and four brothers, and our family always enjoyed creating things. When I grew up, I studied art at Brigham Young University, in Provo, Utah, and after I was married, I started a pattern company, of soft crafts, to assist in bringing in income. I had four children, and enjoyed being home with them. My daughter has been an avid quilter since she was sixteen, and my sons all enjoy various aspects of art and creativity. I have written around nine books, on various crafting and sewing techniques. In addition, I have worked in television, and enjoy all sorts of crafting. I have traveled to the Orient to assist a floral company in their buying, I have designed a seasonal showroom display in Dallas, and currently work as a display designer for a local craft store, in addition to my own pattern company and book projects. Do I think I will ever retire? I certainly hope not!
