| Introduction | I'm a stay-at-home mother of five, though you'll only ever see four blonde heads bobbing around me, as one of our boys died just after he was born. My greatest pleasure in this life is fulfilling my calling as a wife and mother - something I've wanted to be since I was a child. Now I'm moving into my second love, that of writing. With the help of my Heavenly Father, I hope to touch at least one life for the better. |
| Interests | Oh baby are my interests varied. I love to crochet bookmarks, baby blankets, afgans and scarves. I can bake cookies and brownies and cakes (oh my!) but bread continues to elude me. I love astronomy and space, find the Mayans fascinating, and think photography should be a lot cheaper so I can learn to do it more. I read. A lot. One summer I managed over 60 books. I KNOW! And that, my friends, is just the tip of the ice burg. |
| Favorite movies | Pride and Prejudice (pick a version), Harry Potter, Narnia, the Mummy, almost anything with Sandra Bullock, Anne of Green Gables and the sequel (but not the 3rd one. I don't like the 3rd one!), Finding Neverland, Lord of the Rings trilogy, High School Musical trilogy (and not ashamed to admit it!), Amazing Grace, any old musicals with Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly, and so many more |
| Favorite music | I adore Veggitales, The Garden, John Schmidt, Steve Nelson, Peter Breinholt, Last of the Mohicans, Paul Cardall, the Hymns!!!, SO many musical scores (like Phantom, Hairspray, Singing in the Rain, etc), Toad the Wet Sprocket, Beethoven, Collin Ray, Jars of Clay, U2 (the earlier stuff), Styx, my children, and more I can't think of just now |
| Favorite books | the Book of Mormon, Bible, Andrew Skinner's books on the Atonement and resurrection of Christ, everything Barbara Michaels/Elizibeth Peters (especially the Amelia Peabody series), Patricia Sprinkle's Thoroughly Southern Mystery Series, Jan Karon's Mitford series, anything by Rene Gutteridge, Susan Cooper's Dark is Rising series, Madeleine L'Engle's Wrinkle in Time trilogy, Brandon Mull's Fablehaven series, Harry Potter series, Lord of the Rings series (are we seeing a pattern yet??), the Eragon trilogy, some stuff I write (come on, I had to include myself, right?), Eve and the Choice Made in Eden, The Magic of Ordinary Days, anything by Jane Austen, and loads more! |
