About me

Location Mokena, Illinois, United States
Introduction Yo! I've been on TV more than 5 times describing what the tornado sounded like. I bask aggressively. I recently discovered that deep fryers are not toys, and I will be the first to capture a live giant squid. So, all things aside - I'm a librarian in the awesomest library this side of Chicago, so that means you better love books, old archivy stuff, hearing stories about the various freaks that come to visit us, and being terrified by tales of Orson, the Library Ghost.
Interests I'm into all sorts of strange stuff, like ghosts, cryptozoology, (Globsters off the starboard bow!) .... if it's weird and bizarre, chances are, I'll dig it. But I also interested in (slightly) more normal things, like foreign languages, history, and reading. I'm just now discovering that typing one-handedly is not as fun as looks.
Favorite Movies Office Space, Dumb and Dumber, Nosferatu (both versions!), Lost in Translation, Ghostbusters, Uncle Buck, The Breakfast Club, Phantom of the Opera (1925), Frankenstein vs. The Wolfman, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The Great Outdoors, Plains, Trains and Automobiles
Favorite Music Ehem, The Beatles! But also listenable are Kraftwerk, The Shins, Daft Punk, New Order, Tears for Fears, Coldplay, Weezer, Michael Jackson, Pet Shop Boys, Chevelle, Depeche Mode, the Zombies, Ferry Corsten, Tiesto, Miike Snow, let's stop the list here before it gets too out of control.
Favorite Books The two best ones ever written, hands down: Catcher in the Rye and The Great Gatsby. Other good ones: The Neverending Story, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, For Esme with Love and Squalor (actually a short story, but whaddyagonnado), Raise High the Roof Beam Carpenters, To Kill a Mockingbird, Into the Wild, Weinberg, Ohio, All Quiet on the Western Front
