| Introduction | I started traveling around Pakistan in the early 90s during my school days. I inherited this passion from my father, who used an Olympus camera to capture many travel moments, especially in northern Pakistan. He visited Swat Valley in the early '70s and Khunjerab in the '80s, traveling on a tractor-trolley. He also made two trips to Kalash. My first mountain trip was in 1990 when my father took my younger sister and me to Abbottabad. Watching Kakool Academy from the mountaintop remains one of my fond childhood memories. Over the years, I've visited the base camps of all Pakistan's 8,000-meter peaks and undertaken various mountain treks. I’ve also been practicing landscape photography for the past 20 years. My photography, under the name 'Ali Baig', can be found on Flickr. Alongside photography, I have a deep interest in architecture and historical buildings, which is a key focus of this blog. You can also explore my wildlife photography under the name 'aliusman739' on 500px. |
