Introduction	Aiden suffers from a genetic disorder, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Type 1. It is from a recessive gene that both parents have to carry. We had never heard of the disease that now rules every moment of our life. It effects the motor neurons from the spinal cord, especially voluntary muscles like arms, legs and neck. Aiden cannot move his arms or legs without assistance. He is still able to move his fingers to operate switch adapted items. He is still able to smile but that might not be possible one day. He cannot swallow, all his nutritional needs come from his G-tube. Respiratory care is a MUST! We are very proactive in keeping Aiden lungs clean and clear. For more information go to www.fsma.org
