| Introduction | Grape picker. Sheep and cow herder. Movie extra. Bartender. Apricot splitter. English teacher. Consultant. While these professions may not sound glamorous, they are the trades that allowed me to spend more than three years living and working overseas. I first caught the travel bug during a semester abroad in England in 1989. Since that time, I have managed to fund adventures in Asia, Central America, Europe, the Middle East, Russia and the South Pacific. Since my first trip to Asia in 1991, I have toyed with the idea of exploring "East meets West" in my writing. I finally decided to put my thoughts into words and write about life in the Pacific Rim and America. |
