| Introduction | I have two talents in life, mothering and cooking. Since, I have no proof my mothering skills are exceptional (Check back with me in about 15 years. Pinto Bean will be 5 in December and Muffin Man turned 2 in May), I decided to focus my blog on something I do have proof I am good at, cooking and baking. It is the thing that relaxes me and centers me and has also expanded the waistlines of me and mine (my quantifiable proof). Since I am the type to pick up a cookbook as light reading and since I am always in the kitchen waiting for this thing to stew or that thing to roast, about a year ago I began to flip over the boxes, bottles and bags in my cupboard to look for recipes. It is amazing; they are everywhere, every package, every bottle and every yogurt lid. So my very bright idea (this has been validated by all my wonderful friends), is to start reviewing these recipes. My inaugural recipe; Nestle Toll House Cookies. In my mind, this is the iconic “Back of the Box” (well, bag but you know what I mean) recipe. It was either this or Durkee’s Green Bean Casserole but I decided to save this one for Thanksgiving. |
